What interested me most at the Vitality Show this year was the number of parents who approached us based on our “coaching teenagers” flyer. This side of our business has exploded over the past few months. The reasons for parents to seek out coaching for their teenagers varies but primarily revolve around confidence and self-esteem issues. We all know that being a teenager can be one of the most difficult times of our life. I can personally vouch for it. Hormones are raging, hair is growing in strange places, emotions are rising up and out of control and feelings of low self-esteem and poor self-image are rife. Who do they turn to? You would hope the parents or guardians but at this difficult time communication can be tricky. The worry is that unless the issues are addressed now, they may be taken into adult life, as we see so often as coaches. Do not despair. Coaching can really help teenagers. It offers practical support to get clarity on where they want to go and how they want to be and take responsibility in getting themselves there. Coaching follows the teenager’s agenda, empowering them to take control, and provides a compassionate, independent ear to guide and support them. If you believe your teenager could benefit from coaching, we are offering 10 completely complimentary coaching sessions for teenagers aged between 14 and 19 on a first come first served basis.
