10 Steps to Create Change

Hi, I recently gave a talk at the Vitality Show at Earls Court and wanted to share with you the 10 steps I've identified for creating positive changes in life:

1.     Awareness:
-       Identify what needs changing
-       When did it start?
-       Why did it start
If it's unknown when and why, simply accept that this was learnt
-       What does it give you?
-       What does it cost you?

2.     Decide if it's worth changing - If it's not, work on something else. Put your efforts into those areas of your life that will create the most positive impact.

3.     Choose to lose it - Make a conscious decision that this will change

4.     Believe it's possible - If you struggle to believe it, get evidence. Find people who have created this change themselves.

5.     Get exited - Those who get exited over the prospect of change achieve it far faster than those who fear it. Live in the possibility of how things WILL BE.

6.     Take 1 step today - Continual, steady progress will inevitably get you where you want to be.

7.     Expect resistance - The subconscious will invariably favour the known over the unknown so expect resistance to change.

8.     Allow yourself to fail and succeed - If the pressure to succeed is too great and the fear of failure to high, you will either not start/attempt to change or will stop the first time you don't succeed. Equally you must embrace the prospect of success.

9.     Reward yourself regardless of the outcome - It's important to understand that the actions taken are far more significant than the outcome.

10.   Stick with it  - By taking small progressive steps towards a desired outcome will inevitably lead you to success.
